PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN (PRF)

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) has a high concentration of growth factors that are associated with regenerative properties. PRF therapy can be used to stimulating collagen growth for facial rejuvenation by thickening thinning, aging skin

In order to obtain the platelet rich fibrin, blood is drawn from the patient’s arm, transferred to a tube, and placed into a centrifuge. As the centrifuge spins it separates the red blood cells, plasma, and platelets. We then isolate and extract the PRPF from the concentration to use at the regions of interest. Each patient’s treatment is conducted utilizing a disposable, sterile kit.

The number of PRF sessions needed is dependent on each individual patient and their desired results. However, we often recommend a series of three treatment sessions approximately 4 weeks apart to start with maintenance treatments approximately every 6 months in order to achieve ideal results. Please schedule a complimentary consultation to discuss a personalized PRF treatment plan.

PRF Injections

Platelet-Rich Fibrin is a denser, more concentrated version of PRP. PRF can be injected into different specific areas of the face similar to a dermal filler. The primary difference between PRF and filler is that PRF is improving the health and thickness of the skin, while the filler is addressing more significant volume deficiencies of the underlying tissue. PRF injections increase the flow of blood supply to the skin and its ability to grow more collagen. This leads to thicker and younger looking skin overtime and gives the face a naturally rejuvenated look.

PRF injections require multiple sessions over the course of months before you are able to visibly see a difference. During this time the platelet rich plasma is continually working behind the scenes to grow new collagen and develop a foundation for long-term volumizing benefits. To maximize your results in a particular area, combining PRF injections and filler over several months is a great option. This provides you immediate results with the filler in addition to the added benefits of building natural collagen with the PRF over time. Some patients may experience mild swelling or bruising as the skin heals. However, most patients are able to resume their normal activities several hours following treatment.

Microneedling with PRF

Numerous studies prove the efficacy of microneedling alone. The addition of PRF to the treatment amplifies the results and speeds recovery. This is because PRF enhances healing through its high concentration of growth factors.

When used in conjunction with microneedling, the tiny perforations created during the treatment deliver the platelet-rich plasma to the deepest layers of the skin. This stimulates the growth of new, healthy skin cells which help smooth skin and scar tissue over time. Microneedling with PRP is clinically beneficial for overall skin texture including acne scars, enlarged pores, and fine lines.
